TigerCamp Schedule at a Glance
Day 1
Welcome. You arrive, check in, meet new friends, and get settled. Tigercamp Facilitators and Team Leaders will facilitate and lead large and small groups into high-energy activities that will be educational, interactive, and fun. They will include, music, movement, and group interaction. The morning sessions will include getting a look at who we are now, recognize how we are alike in some ways and unique in others, and put a spotlight on the importance of setting goals. There will be activities that allow campers to identify Heroes, Role Models, and Mentors who are reaching their goals and making a difference.
During lunch, Sacramento Kings owners, Joe and Gavin Maloof have been invited to visit; group photos will be taken, followed by an introduction to the zoo by attending the Wildlife Zoo Show. The afternoon will be filled with drama! Actors Matthew Settle, from the hit series, “Gossip Girl” and local talent actor, Kyle Welling, will introduce drama and assist the campers in developing and performing group skits. The day will end with a visit from a Sacramento Kings Player. He will participate in a Who Am I? activity with the campers.
Day 2
Campers will continue to learn about themselves and others through a Volunteer Service Project. Looking at the benefits of volunteering, getting to know the community and what needs to be done. They will learn how to begin, plan, and implement a group service project. Bud Gardner, Co-Author of “Chicken Soup for the Writers Soul” and Jennifer Martin, author of “Huna Warrior” will visit and share their wisdom on creativity, writing, how to submit stories to the publishing world, and implement a creative brain activity with the campers.
The afternoon will include discovering who we can become. Campers will set personal goals, identify barriers to success and focus on plans for reaching their goals. This will include the importance of making intentional choices, design ways to stay focused on reaching goals, and explore career options. Campers will define art by exploring the zoo and completing a unique and personal art project.
Day 3
Campers will take a look back and a look ahead and reflect on their involvement in TigerCamp and the Tiger Woods Foundation Character Education program. They will examine, assess, and share what they learned about themselves and how this will affect future decisions.
Community Leaders and Media Broadcasters have been invited to participate by sharing their wisdom, career path, the importance of communication, and setting and reaching goals. Each group and individual camper will be recognized as they present their projects, new knowledge, and celebrate their TigerCamp experience.
